This double row Dewitts aluminum radiator is offered as an alternate to the original plate type (941) radiator. While its BTU rating (4100) is less than the original, it is still 25% better than the copper replacement radiators. Note the design uses many of the same original parts used in the factory design, including the inlet and outlet tank.
If you are considering other aftermarket aluminum radiators, here are a few thing to look for:
1. The top inlet should be positioned directly over the core edge and not directly on top of the end tank.
2. The lower outlet must be below the tank or shroud trimming may be necessary.
3. The overflow connection should be a 90 degree tube, welded in and not a threaded hole that requires a barbed brass fitting.
